Air handling systems
Air handling systems purify air, but they also cause vibrations due to their moving parts. Normally the main generator of structure-borne noise is the centrepiece, namely the motor-ventilator unit.
In most cases systems are constructed on a modular basis, which promotes the generation of structure-borne noise. This noise can then expand to the entire building.
Machines with increasing performance, running at higher revolutions and speeds, produce increased vibratory stresses.
A vibration-insulated mounting of air handling systems is especially called for in buildings in which a number of high power systems are installed, like for instance health resorts, hospitals, hotels, opera houses, administration buildings, computer centres and in industry.
The plan is the beginning
Each equipment mounting is planned individually according to customer requirements and construction conditions (steel base structure, concrete foundation, wooden supporting structure, direct bedding).
Air handling systems mounted adjacently, or on top of each other, or a combination of both. We will calculate the compounded centres of gravity and specify suitable measures for insulating structure-borne noise.
For each installation our customer receives an exact calculation of the mounting, specifying the degree of insulation, insulation effect and resonant frequency.
A detailed CAD plan, colour-coded according to material, significantly simplifies installation on site. The probability of construction defects is reduced and this leads to vibration insulation according to plan.
